Papers Accompanying Specific Bills and Resolutions of the 63rd Congress Committee on the District of Columbia. 4/7/1913 - 3/3/1915. View of Red Light District on C Street, N.W. near 13th, with Griffin Veatch who was showing the photographer around No. 6 Special Messenger Service, 1223 New York Avenue, N.W.. Griffin Veatch said he commenced the messenger service when he was 11 years old. He says he was 17, but he did not look it. He was known to a truant officer and his family had trouble with him. Quite profane, but (apparently) not very wise about this district although he said he goes to these houses occasionally.
